Annotation
The goal of this course is to provide the student with the skills to select the appropriate hardware and software for implementation of solutions that require fault tolerance and high availability. The curriculum is basically on MOC #2087 “Implementing Microsoft Windows 2000 Clustering”.
At the beginning there will be a review of some general terms and hardware solutions for fault tolerance systems:

RAID levels and RAID controllers with SCSI or Fiber Channel Interfaces |

Disk storages – Storage Array Network (SAN), Network Attached Storage (NAS) |
The main part in the course is learning about the two cluster technologies in MS Windows 2000 Advanced Server and Datacenter Server:

Cluster Service Architecture |
 |
Network Load Balancing (NLB) |
At the end of this course, the students will be able:

to identify hardware and network requirements and configure a computer running Windows 2000 Advanced Server in preparation for installing Cluster service and Network Load Balancing cluster. |

to plan and implement a complex cluster by using multiple technologies |

Този курс е подготвителен за Microsoft Certified Professional exam 70-223: Installing, Configuring, and Administering Microsoft Clustering Services by Using Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced Server.
